Browser Engines

The Fluid Browser implements multiple browser engines to give our users a choice on what browser engine they use. The current options are Chromium and Gecko(Firefox). When a user loads a URL, the app decides which engine to use based upon what we think works best on that site (sometimes this is incorrect).

Switching Engines Globally

To switch all new browser tabs and windows change the default browser mode in settings. Note: This doesn't change any windows that are currently open. Only for new tabs that are created. To make this take affect for all windows, switch the engine and close and re-open Fluid (or close and re-open all the windows)

Switching Engines Per Tab

To switch the browser engine click the three dot menu dropdown and click on either chromium or gecko button. The page will reload in the newly selected mode.
