Using Fluid with Mouse & Keyboard
Getting start with Mouse and/or Keyboard
First ensure that your device is connected via bluetooth or usb cable to the headset. Here is Meta's guide on getting a device connected.
Supported Devices
Any standard bluetooth keyboard or mouse should work as expected. If you are using an international keyboard, see which keyboard layouts we support here.
Known Issues with Apple Peripherals
Apple Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad do not support scrolling with two fingers on Android devices. You can work aroudn this by holding Ctrl + Shift on your keyboard while moving your mouse, which will send scroll events.
If you want to see if a specific keyboard or mouse has been tested please ask about a specific model in our discord.
Navigating the Web
Using a mouse in fluid should feel very similar to using a mouse on traditional desktop operating systems. Point your cursor at a certain item and click to interact with it. Use the mouse scroll wheel to scroll through pages. Use the right click menu to copy and paste text or urls. Typing with a bluetooth keyboard should "just work".
Moving Windows
You can move windows by clicking and dragging at the top of a window similar to moving apps on a desktop computer.
When your cursor is pointed anywhere at a window, you can also click and release the middle mouse button to begin moving the window. Click the middle mouse button again to stop moving it. You can bring the window closer or farther by moving the scroll wheel. You can disable this behavior in the Settings menu if you want to use the middle mouse button for its normal "mouse 3" functions.
Shake to find mouse
You can "shake" your mouse (rapidly move it back and forth along the table) and your cursor will teleport in front of you.
Mouse Sensitivity
You can adjust the mouse sensitivity in the Settings menu.
"Type what I say" (e.g. speech to text)
Coming to mouse and keyboard soon. Switch to controllers to use this feature for now.
Summon your dock and all windows in front of you
If you have lost your dock or windows, you can summon them in front of you by pressing the Menu button by pinching your left hand thumb and index finger while looking at your hand with your palm facing you. This is the "app menu" gesture for all hand-tracking based Quest apps.
Reset your position
To reset your position in the virtual room, or bring your workspace back to yourself when you put the headset back on, hold your right hand thumb and index finger while looking at your right hand. This is the "System Menu" gesture.
